Donna Walbank

Donna will be a familiar figure to many, as President of Rotary in Great Britain & Ireland in 2019-20 – and she spoke at the last District 1090 conference in Newbury two years ago.

Donna works full-time in her family run hairdressing business. She moved to Wales in 1983 when she married Steve and both are committed Rotary Foundation supporters.

They have three children and six grandchildren.

Donna joined Brynmawr Rotary in 1997 and has thoroughly enjoyed various club positions, and posts in Rotary GB&I and Rotary International.

Donna’s prime Brynmawr Rotary service focus is with their community-based RotaKids and Interact Clubs which meet weekly and who make her frequently smile (and frown!).

This community commitment highlights how Rotary ‘Serves to Change Lives’ whilst acknowledging it changes our own too.

Michelle Hurter

Michelle works part-time as a Health and Well-being Development officer in South Wales.

She has worked in her community for over 10 years and has a passion for working and growing young people.

Michelle became involved in Rotary six years ago after a chance meeting with Donna Wallbank who introduced her to opportunities for young people in the organisation and become a member of Brynmawr Rotary in 2021.

Michelle’s focus within Rotary is to work with the community to help address identified needs and work collaboratively toward alleviating hardship.

Also, she wants to grow young people into becoming more empathetic and responsible adults.

Michelle has three children and a supportive husband Andrew who has also become involved with the Rotary family.
