Allan is a member of Jersey Rotary, and in 2018-19, he became the first District Governor for 1110, covering central southern England, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Wight, from Jersey since 1955.
A member of the Rotary GB&I’s Disaster Response team, Allan is heading up nationally the Rotary GB&I Ukraine Task Force. The Task Force has been created to provide a unified approach to the Ukraine crisis, especially to displaced people both leaving and within Ukraine. and to communicate to Rotarians across the UK and Ireland.
To help address immediate needs the Task Force will be working through Rotary’s Inter-Country Committees, and the International Rotary Fellowship of Healthcare Professionals.
The Inter-Country Committees are supporting local services for sick and injured people, with Rotary members stationed at nation borders 24 hours a day providing essential supplies and shelter for displaced people
To support their work, Rotary will be liaising through already established Rotary GB&I District bank accounts.
In 2004, Allan received an MBE for services to the community and overseas charities. He has also received an Honorary Master of Arts for services to education and training from Plymouth University for his work in Jersey.
